Rio Bueno knock Clarks Town out
FALMOUTH, Trelawny — Major League champions Clarks Town were knocked out of the first round of the Trelawny Football Association’s Presidents Cup Knock-out after they were beaten 1-0 by Rio Bueno FC on Saturday.
Garfield Stewart’s 23rd-minute goal was enough for Rio Bueno FC to advance to next weekend’s semi-finals.
Also advancing to the last four were Coopers Pen, Harmony FC and Spicy Hill.
On Saturday, Coopers Pen beat promoted Division One champions Fire FC 3-0 with goals from Shaunavan McKenzie, Andre Palmer and Shamanie Stoney.
Dontae Johnson and Jeff Pearce scored for Harmony FC in their 2-0 win over Daniel Town on Sunday, while Spicy Hill advanced ahead of Bunkers Hill So Fresh on penalty kicks.
The teams had drawn 0-0 in their game after regulation and extra time.
