Hot ‘Off the press’ in Stony Hill
HIT rhythms are dime a
dozen in the dancehall.
They usually make hit
songs and stars out of artistes
and some producers.
The principals at RME Musiq and
Time Unit Music hope their joint
production, the Off Di Press
rhythm, will score on all fronts.
Released in October, it features
Chi Chi Ching’s Hills Anthem, Bye
Locus by Lisa Hyper and Flexx’s Me
Nahh.
“This is just a ground-breaker
with a talented bunch of artistes
chosen to record for this project,
that we have been honing for a
while now,” said RME Musiq’s
Andre ‘DreHype’ Williams.
“I hope to achieve commercial
success and establish myself as a
music producer locally and
internationally.”
Williams is the former cultural
and entertainment affairs chairman
at the University of the West Indies’
Mona Campus.
According to Neutron Obliv, head
of Time Unit Music, “We are
immensely pleased with being
touted as the new underground
rhythm set to break into
the mainstream.”
Time Unit Music has had
moderate success with beats such
as the Holiday and Wild Breed.
Williams said RME, which
operates out of Stony Hill, is also
looking to put the St Andrew area
on the map with its
recording studio.
“The aim is to expose more raw
talent existing in and around the
community.”
