Have you seen the goat?
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Tomorrow, entrants in this year’s Ram Goat Run will make their way to the resort town of Ocho Rios in St Ann, in search of the goat.
Contestants will depart from East Palm Drive in Hope Gardens to Ocho Rios through Mount Rosser. The return leg will see contestants travelling from Ocho Rios back to Kingston, via a route of their choice.
All registered entrants will gather at East Palm Drive at 11:00 am to collect their packages and clues for a 12:30 pm start.
Various points will be assigned to each challenge and the aim is for teams to rack up as many points as possible. For example, one challenge may be to; ‘Find a lady whose name is Barbara and take a photo of her ID’.
Contestants will be encouraged to tweet and post to social media platforms throughout the day, as the day’s events will be heavily supported by social media. And, of course, contestants are urged to be creative.
It is also important that all photos associated with each task be uploaded to the Scavify app — the Ram Goat Run app — so points can be assigned.
The organisers advise that Ram Goat Run is not a race and teams are urged to take as much time as they need to complete the challenges as long as they return home. Road safety is of paramount importance. According to the rules, any team witnessed driving recklessly will be instantly disqualified.
Admission is $16,000 per car, which allows for a maximum of four teammates.
All proceeds will be donated to the St James-based We Care for Cornwall Regional Hospital foundation.
