RAM GOAT RUN: Save Goat Islanders seeking to defend title
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The 2015 edition of ATL Ram Goat Run is off to a great start as over 100 teams have taken up the scavenger hunt challenge leaving from Hope Gardens, Kingston at 12:30 pm.
“We have had a lot of support from corporate Jamaica,” Stephen Hector, global public relations director for Sandals Resorts International, told OBSERVER ONLINE.
This year’s event will take competitors on a round trip from Kingston to Ocho Rios, St Ann using the old Mt Rosser route. Along the way, there are 34 challenges to complete before the 5:30 pm deadline.
These challenges range from simply collecting a refreshing drink to finding the elusive goat. The teams will record their completed tasks via the Ram Goat Run app as well as grab extra clues from the event’s social media feeds.
Double champions, The Goat Islanders are back, with a slightly revised line-up and are confident in retaining their title.
“This is our a-team,” Tevar Anderson, Goat Islander teammate said.
However, they will have a challenge on their hands as all the corporate interests have added an air of seriousness to the proceedings not seen in previous years. Corporate pride was clearly at stake as all could be seen plotting strategies once handed their challenge sheets.
