BOOM Dance Battle goes on the road
HOT off the success of the dance crew clash, Badda Dan — The Ultimate Dance Battle, energy drink BOOM will be including the competition as part of their annual all-island road show.
For the past three years, BOOM’s road show sought to attract up-and-coming artistes who would vie for a chance to win $100,000. This year, however, the team decided to change the focus and take the battle on an all-island tour. The move would assist with plans to reach and recruit more dance crews islandwide, and increase the entrants’ base for the grand finale slated for July 2016.
“Similarly to our weekly clashes at Skateland in Half-Way-Tree, we will be taking it to the streets in every parish and town that the road show stops at,” said Kimberly Lawson, brand manager for the energy drink.
“Plans have been going very well already. We’ve already sought out a number of dance crews who are excited for the opportunity to showcase their battling skills. In addition to winning $10,000 on spot, each winning crew will automatically qualify to be a part of the final clash next July where they will have a chance to claim the top prize of US$10,000.”
The road show, which will kick off on December 3 in Montego Bay, will be hosted by Chi Ching Ching and will feature guest artistes including Tifa, Vanessa Bling, Omari, Ikaya and Mr Lexx. The final show at Skateland Half-Way-Tree on Christmas Eve will feature Popcaan and Sizzla Kalonji.
