Dare To Care
The Shaggy and Friends charity concert, held last Saturday on the lawns of the Jamaica House, was well-supported by corporate giants in local and international markets, including newcomers iHeartRadio, FIAT USA, and Cocoyac Cognac. The sponsors must have been pleased, including Flow, who released blue balloons in memory of the 18 premature babies who died last November.
Teaming up with the Shaggy Make A Wish Foundation was inevitable for the telecommunications giants, who have trailblased in social responsibility and donations to the Bustamante Hospital for Children, as well as other charities. “When we heard the Shaggy and Friends show was back this year, we were thrilled! We had to come on board, and not just come on board by handing over a donation because a little goes a long way, but in terms of products, services, things that will facilitate texting and increase and augment donations for a worthy cause.” said Flow’s Sponsorship & Events Manager Stephen Miller.
The Shaggy and Friends benefit concert, organised by the Shaggy Make A Wish Foundation, serves as a fund-raiser for the Bustamante Hospital for Children and, to date, has raised over USD $2m for the only full-service paediatric hospital in the English-speaking Caribbean.
