Robinson hat-trick propels Revelations to close win
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Revelations FC’s prolific striker Sebastian Robinson scored the first hat-trick of the St James Football Association’s league season, leading his team to a 3-2 win over Paradise FC in their Sandals/ATL Division One game at the UDC field on Thursday.
Robinson’s triple was the difference as the young Paradise FC team equalised twice, but came up short at the end.
Somerton FC had a big opening win, blanking Salt Spring Roses 4-0 at Albion with a double from Marvin Ellis, while hosts Westgreen came from a goal down to earn a point from Seaview as they drew 1-1.
Revelations FC’s win saw them join leaders Fire House SC and Club Stars at the top of Zone One, all on three points.
Robinson gave Revelations FC the lead in the 30th minute, but Anthony France equalised two minutes later with a shot from the right side that hit the underside of the crossbar, but had enough force to beat the goalkeeper.
Robinson then got his second in the 39th minute to give his team the lead at half-time.
Everado Chambers equalised in the 73rd minute, but Robinson completed his hat-trick in the 79th minute to give his team all three points.
Somerton FC, the Division Two champions two seasons ago, had a great start as Ellis scored in the 10th and 63rd minutes, Dwayne Anderson scored in the fifth minute, and Fitzroy Martin in the 35th minute as they joined Bogue FC at the top of Zone 2, tied on points and goal difference.
At Westgreen, Seaview FC’s Rojay Hunter exploited a slow Westgreen defence to give the visitors the lead in the 23rd minute, but Floyd Collins levelled in the 75th as the team shared the points.
