Melbourne, Norwood hunt lead in Senior League
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Melbourne FC and Norwood Strikers could take over the lead in their respective zones today as the St James Football Association’s Sandals/ATL Senior League continues with three games.
Melbourne, who are tied on points with Faulkland FC in Zone One, both on three points, will take on Seba FC at Albion, while Norwood Strikers, who are tied on points with Catherine Hall in Zone Two, will travel to Spot Valley to face Mountain Villa.
In the other game, Violet Kickers and Marl Road will meet at UDC field, both seeking their first win.
Melbourne FC, last year’s beaten finalists, defeated Montego Bay United Under-21 1-0 to open their account last week and should get the better of a Seba FC team that drew 1-1 with Marl Road on Friday.
Mountain Villa will be playing their first game as last week’s game against Tomorrow’s People was postponed, and they will be hoping for a good show at home against Norwood Strikers, who beat Lilliput Rovers 1-0 last week to start their campaign.
Violet Kickers struggled against Faulkland FC on Friday and will hope for a better showing against Marl Road at the UDC Field.
Both teams will be confident of a win today which would push them closer to the top of the tables.
