Faulkland spank MoBay U-21 in Sandals Senior League
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Faulkland FC beat Montego Bay United Under-21 4-1 in their highly anticipated clash in the St James Football Association Sandals International/ATL Senior League game at Jarrett Park on Saturday.
Faulkland FC reacted to going behind with a devastating four goals in 32 minutes, two from Jourdaine Fletcher as they matched the score from their first win, while condemning Montego Bay United Under-21 to their second straight loss to start the season.
The game featuring two teams packed with top young talent from the region was expected to be close despite MBU Under-21 losing their opening game to Melbourne FC the previous week.
The game was even for the first half before MBU Under-21 took the lead in the 49th minute when Deshane Beckford scored from the penalty spot after a Faulkland FC defender handled the ball in the area.
The response was swift and decisive with Fletcher scoring a double in a four-minute span, equalising in the 57th minute then giving his team the lead in the 60th.
Jason Malcolm made it 3-1 with a thunderbolt of a shot in the 78th minute before Radcliff Dawkins added a fourth in the 89th minute.
