Man threatens witness in murder case, remanded
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man who reportedly confronted a witness in a murder case against his son and threatened to kill her was remanded in custody when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.
The accused, Michael McGregor, is charged with threatening crown witness.
McGregor’s son is on trial in the Circuit Court on a murder charge.
According to allegations outlined by the prosecutor in court on Friday, McGregor went to the complainant and read out section of her statement to her and told her that he is going to kill and bag her body because she caused his son to get arrested.
Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey after listening to the allegations said, “Those are the side effects of disclosure, let him stay where he is.”
The accused is scheduled to return to court on February 11.
