#DecisionJa2016: Holness discloses plans for first 100 days in office
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Opposition Leader Andrew Holness has promised to commence legislative process to establish a fixed election date within the first 100 days, if the Jamaica Labour Party forms the next Administration.
” The time to change the system to a fixed election date is now. And by the way the date will be before the budget and not after,” Holness said.
“So no government will be able to come and give you half truths and trick the people and when them come them throw poison pon you,” he continued.
He added that within the first 100 days, his Administration will commence impeachment proceedings to ensure that only people with integrity sit in Parliament.
He also stated that legislation will start to set a fixed term limit for the prime minister in the first 100 days in office.
Holness, who is now addressing a massive gathering of party supporters in the historic Sam Sharpe Square, also signalled his intent to have a grand referendum on the Caribbean Court of Justice and the buggery law.
