Bennett praises McCarthy’s batting consistency

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Junior Bennett, the Jamaica Scorpions head coach, is praising batsman Andre McCarthy for his displays so far in the regional cricket season.

McCarthy, 28, is the Scorpions’ top batsman — compiling 327 runs from five matches.

“McCarthy has been really consistent this season. He has to continue in the same vein… keep scoring runs,” Bennett said.

The Scorpions were set to depart the island on Monday for Antigua, where they will battle Leeward Islands Hurricanes in the sixth-round four-day encounter, slated to start Friday.
