#DecisionJa2016: Andrew Holness nominated to massive party support
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) leader Andrew Holness completed the nomination process in his St Andrew West Central constituency with cheers from a massive crowd who welcomed the party leader to the Waltham Educational Centre.
People on the scene blew vuvuzellas and cheered loudly as the incumbent candidate entered the building to complete the nomination process. He paid the $3000 fee with $100 notes.
The JLP leader is being challenged by the People’s National Party’s (PNP) Patrick Roberts who has already been nominated.
Prior to being nominated Holness led a huge throng of supporters through his West Central St Andrew constituency on his way to the nomination centre.
Holness and his crew seems intent and activating his bases in the constituency by meeting and greeting his supporters, as well as small groups of PNP supporters who chose to remain on the streets following the nomination of their candidate Patrick Roberts, earlier this morning.
A colourful sea of green and orange has been flowing across the usually volatile constituency. But, there is no word-throwing or volatility visible in the area despite the obvious mixture of politics, which a good sign for a constituency of this nature.
