Nomination day highlights
JAMAICANS turned out in their numbers Tuesday to show support for their respective political candidates who were nominated to contest the February 25 General Election. A total of 152 candidates were nominated across the 63 constituencies. The ruling People’s National Party and the Opposition Jamaica Labour Party each fielded full slates of 63 candidates while seven individuals were nominated for the National Democratic Movement and six for the Marcus Garvey People’s Political Party. In the meantime, there were 10 independents and a single canditate for a new party called HOPE (Hope for Portland East), which was formed on Tuesday. Here are some photo highlights.
