Machel evolves on Billboard
SOCA star Machel Montano scored the second Billboard-charting album of his 32-year career this week. His Monk Evolution debuts at number eight on the Reggae Album Chart.
Monk Evolution is the 19th solo album for the 41-year-old Trinidadian. It has 11 tracks including Memory with Tarrus Riley); Like So (featuring Angela Hunte); and Carnival Groupie.
Montano is known for hits such as The Fog, Dance With You, Big Phat Fish, Big Truck, Happiest Man Alive and Jumbie. In 2014, he won the Best International Performance category at the Soul Train Music Awards.
His previous Billboard entries were his 2015 album Monk Monte, which peaked at number two on the Reggae Album Chart, and the song One Wine, credited to Machel Montano and Sean Paul featuring Major Lazer.
