#DecisionJa2016: JLP supporter leaves job in US to vote
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) supporter Karoon ‘Chin’ Wallace says she left her job in the United States to come home to vote for candidate Juliet Holness, who is seeking to represent the St Andrew East Rural constituency in Parliament.
Holness is up against the People’s National Party (PNP) candidate Imani Duncan-Price.
“I flew down from Florida this morning on a 6:30 flight. As I land here after eight o’clock, I got straight into the polling station [and] put my X beside the bell for Mrs Holness,” Wallace said.
“I am a die-heart Labourite. Mek mi give it to you plain and straight now. Mi lef’ mi job just fi come vote, mi miss out pon too much a it. So mi did affi come dung come vote. Yuh see my vote alone a go count and make Labourite win. Mi naah nothing more fi seh,” she added.
