#DecisionJa2016: Slow voting so far
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Director of Elections Orette Fisher says that the majority of the 7,039 polling stations across the island opened on time, with the lateness of caretakers impacting the operations at others.
As at 11:00 am, a total of 289,048 electors had casted their ballots at 6,604 stations across the island.
Those who have already voted represent just under 17 per cent of the of the 1,824,410 registered voters, according to the November 2015 voters’ list published by the Electoral Commission of Jamaica.
