Spectrum Sporting Clays Champs shoots off Sunday
KINGSTON Jamaica — Top class shooter Geoffrey Ziadie will put his title on the line when the exciting Spectrum Sporting Clays championship shoots off at the Knolford Polo Ranch in St Catherine on Sunday.
The event will get under way at 10:30 am with a shotgun start.
Organisers are aiming to attract a turnout of over 100 shooters which will range from the junior category to the Hunters Class with the anticipation of fierce rivalry over the 14-station course which will be set by Oneal Brown and his team with the assistance from Mark Harris.
National coach Khaleel Azan is expecting a keen competition, following the shooters’ impressive performances at the Gator Cup in Florida.
“The competition will be very keen with the many of the competitors returning from overseas where they showed some fine form the Gator Cup. But I have to give Christian [Sasso] the edge at this time around,” Azan told OBSERVER ONLINE.
The in-form Sasso who is the defending National Shotgun Champion was on top of his game shooting a score of 171 to lead the top four shooters for Jamaica in Florida and should be the closest rival to Ziadie on Sunday. Bobby Chung (161) Ziadie (160) and Azan (158) were the other top marksman.
