Gibson/McCook Relays: STETHS lead girls’ 4x400m qualifiers
KINGSTON, Jamaica — St Elizabeth Technical girls will start as favourites to win the high school girls 4x400m relay at the 40th Gibson/McCook Relays this evening, after leading the qualifiers following this morning’s heats.
Led by Junelle Bromfield, who ran the anchor leg, the Santa Cruz-based school clocked 3 minutes 41.89 seconds to win their heat.
St Jago High was the next fastest in the morning heats, running just one hundredth of a second slower with 3:41.90 seconds, followed by Holmwood Technical (3:43.79 seconds), defending champions Edwin Allen High (3:46.74 seconds), Hydel High (3:47.01 seconds), record holders Vere Technical (3:48.57 seconds), St Andrew Technical (3:49.37 seconds)m, and Manchester High (3:49.75 seconds).
