ONLINE READERS COMMENT: The uncommitted tired of political nonsense
Dear Editor,
We, the uncommitted, have spoken.
For the third straight elections, the number of people registered to vote has fallen. The last election has seen, for the first time, more registered voters refusing to cast a ballot than those who did. This is in addition to many of us who have refused to even bother to register to vote at all. Let those who have ears, hear.
We the uncommitted are tired of the nonsense that has taken over our country in recent times. We are tired of the “fluffy” inaugural speeches with very little, if anything to show for them. We are sick of the empty promises that have become the norm. We are tired of having to vote for a bad choice and a worse one.
We are tired of having politicians, from both political parties, who call on people to be law abiding, while at the same time engage in corruption or turn a blind eye to such. We did not vote because we are sick of it.
We are tired of politicians taking advantage of armies of unemployed people to advance their own political ambitions. We are sick of these politicians doing all they can to maintain these garrisons that won’t go away, so that they can perpetuate their hold on power. We won’t vote for it!
We are tired of the mediocrity that is trumped up as great accomplishments. We are tired of living in a country that has politicians who have robbed this country of its true potential. We are fed up with the mismanagement of our country. We will not vote for dinosaurs – whether they are old or young.
We are tired of leaders who preach accountability, from both sides, who don’t mean what they say. We are tired worthless politicians who are shifted around or who are sent on a “vacation” only to have them come back. We are tired of living in a banana republic.
We are tired of arrogant politicians who think that they are gods. We are sick of these politicians who think that they are better than us. Enough with the animal farm!
I know that the winning party, which every party that might be, can always ignore us. As long as these politicians get into power, that is all they care about. But you know what they say “every day bucket go a well, one day the bottom a go drop out”
