Champions League Player of the Week
The first set of matches for the second leg of the Champions League have ended. The player predicted to have the biggest impact was Real Madrid’s forward Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo did indeed deliver as he scored the first goal of the match against Roma before setting up the second goal of the match for James Rodriguez.
Real Madrid subsequently secured their place in the quarter finals on a 4-0 aggregate score.
The home fans were evidently displeased with his performance perhaps because of his missed chances. However he did his job and anchored Real Madrid into the quarter finals as people expected him to.
Honourable Mention: Zlatan Ibrahimovic for securing Paris Saint-Germain’s place in the quarter finals. He made a huge impact in both legs and has affirmed PSG as a team that just might make it all the way.
