Flow throws support behind JMA/JEA Expo 2016
TELECOMMUNICATIONS firm Flow and its business arm CW Business are now the presenting sponsors of the biennial Expo Jamaica organised by the Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association ( JMA) and the Jamaica Exporters Association ( JEA).
At a media launch hosted last Thursday at the Jamaica Pegasus, it was announced that the quad-play provider would be offering support to the tune of $6 million in cash and kind, to help showcase the best that Jamaican businesses have to offer at the four-day event scheduled for April 14 to 17.
Through C&W Business, Flow will be providing 100 Mbps Wi-Fi capacity for public access at multiple locations and all ADSL, landline and PBX equipment for the Expo Secretariat and buyers areas. Additionally, the provision of the exhibitor’s entire technology infrastructure.
“For decades our business has supported the information and communication technology requirements of almost every Jamaican industry and enterprise. Our involvement is a natural fit in support of a sector for which we’ve been the telecommunications lynchpin both locally and internationally,” said Garry Sinclair, managing director of Flow, during an address to the gathering.
The 2016 staging will see significant expansion of the offerings to both local and international buyers and sellers, with the commissioning of a satellite display at the National Indoors Sports Centre.
“We are particularly proud of the growth being experienced by the small-and medium-sized enterprises that are undoubtedly pioneering the entrance into new markets both locally and abroad. The growing support for and promotion of locally manufactured products is very pleasing from our perspective as Jamaica ultimately stands to reap huge economic and social benefits,” Sinclair said in closing.
Aptly themed the Business Hub of the Caribbean, a range of products covering manufacturing, agriculture, tourism and services will be on display at the event which has an extensive targeted audience of local, regional and international buyers from over 25 different countries.
