A Clean State: Dîner en Blanc Kingston – Part 1
The all-white, picnic concept Le Dîner en Blanc — developed by Francois Pasquier and friends a quarter-century ago, over in The City of Lights — has grown to a now 40 country-strong roster of international destinations that celebrate the mass-foodie experience’s secrecy-shrouded locations, dining rituals, tablescape DIY challenges. So imagine the intrigue and excitement last March when husband-and-wife events tetrad, the Chow Society — Leisha & Brett Wong and Imani Duncan-Price and Stephen Price — added our historic capital city. The inaugural occasion, venued at the mid-town public green space Emancipation Park, was transformed into an overnight cultural phenomenon, and as we would later come to declare, one of the best events of 2015.
The carousel having completed its rotation, and we are less than a month away from the now-notorious public space dinner’s second Rock outing, scheduled for Saturday, April 16 – with, the site-to-be-announced ÂÂcustom still firmly intact. And so, the Style Observer returns with another inspirational prep issue, again rendered in glorious black and white, to get you reset for the muted, yet versatile, colourways of ivory, lace, pearl, and snow that will come to define the big day.
