Dramatic Carnival Glow
The intricate detail of the bejewelled look.

Dramatic Carnival Glow

Get The Look

1. After your prep and foundation routine, dust on a translucent powder and start this look off by filling in the eyebrows, then the eyes. Smear a lime green eyeshadow half-way over the eyelids. Then, apply yellow eyeshadow on the other half of lid. The same is done on the lower waterline and below the lower eyes.

TIP: The key to the brightness and intensity of this look is the eyeshadow giving a pigmented (intense) glow. This is achieved by bulking up on eyeshadow with the eyeshadow brush until it reaches the desired thickness or intensity. Swipe a shimmery white or silver eyeshadow immediately beneath the eyebrow at the brow or brow bone.

2. Place emerald blue and forest green rhinestones on the brow bone beneath the eyebrow using an adhesive such as eyelash glue or spirit gum. A large clear rhinestone is placed at the end towards the outer corner of both eyes.

3. Green rhinestones are stuck along the nose on each side; two green rhinestones were stuck and smaller purple rhinestones, as well, along the sides of the nose. Our model’s glow comes from using a combination of white eyeshadow down the nasal bridge and then a golden highlighter (such as Nars Albatross) swept over that shadow again, down the nasal bridge.

4. This gold highlighter was swept along the cheekbones, as well. For warmth, an orangey blush was swept in a ‘C’-like shape from the apple of her cheeks upwards to the temple, and along the hairline.

5. False lashes were stuck using lash glue (Try the industry favourite: DUO Eyelash Adhesive) on the upper lids and lower waterline, then lined with a black kohl eye pencil.

6. For a more intense look, adhesive jewel tattoos (optional) were placed on the sides of the face and on the forehead. Trendy feather earrings were also added.

7. Achieve that pouty full lip by lining the lips slightly over your lip line in a colour one shade darker than the lipstick you intend to use. We lined our model’s lips with a purple liner. The purple liner was also used to fill in the outer corners of both the upper and lower lips to add depth. A hot pink lipstick was used to fill in the lips completely.

8. Finally, to ensure your look stays in place, use a fixing spray. Spray twice; lightly over the entire face (Try: MAC Prep and Prime Fix Plus or MAKE UP FOR EVER Mist & Fix)

9. That concludes the look. If more warmth or glow is wanted, simply pack on more of the products, ie the orangey blush and that gold highlighter in the areas referred to above.
