Police to ‘strictly’ enforce proximity rule for opening of Parliament
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police are advising the public that the Public Order Act will be strictly enforced for the State opening of Parliament at Gordon House in downtown Kingston, on Thursday, April 14.
As such, in keeping with the provisions pertaining to gatherings in proximity of scheduled premises such as Gordon House, the specified distance is 200 yards from any point within the curtilage of the premises, the police say.;
Consequently, the police say the perimeter for Gordon House will be:
North: Duke and North streets
South: Duke and Sutton streets
East: Beeston and Hanover streets
West: Beeston and King streets
Other scheduled premises are: Jamaica House, Kings House, the Cabinet offices, the headquarters of all ministries, and the Office of Kingston and St Andrew Corporation.
