Fraser-Pryce heads Ja’s team to Penn
World and Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and two members of the World Championships women’s 4x400m relay team have been named in a 22-member team by the JAAA to compete in the USA vs The World relays at this weekend’s 122nd staging of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
The Jamaican women won two of three relays last year, retaining the 4x100m and winning the 4x400m, while coming up just short in the 4x200m.
Elaine Thompson, the World Championships outdoor 200m silver medallist and World Indoor 60m bronze medal winner, Olympic silver medallist Kerron Stewart and Audra Segree could join Fraser-Pryce on the 4x100m team.
Christine Day and Stephenie Ann McPherson, members of the team that won the Mile Relay at the World Championships in Beijing, China, last year, as well as Verone Chambers, Dawnalee Loney and junior Tiffanny James look to be the likely candidates for the 4x400m team.
On the male side, national 400m record holder Rusheen McDonald, as well as Javon Francis and Julian Forte are expected to lead the resjavascript:void(0);pective 4x400m and 4x100m teams that will seek to atone after failing to win any of their events last year.
