Man gases woman following altercation
A man who confessed to dosing a woman with gasolene is to be sentenced today.
Kemarly Lorne pleaded guilty to a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday.
The court heard that on April 8, Lorne threw gasolene on the complainant and chased her with a lighter following an altercation.
However, Lorne denied chasing the woman with a lighter.
Pusey, while reprimanding Lorne, told him that his action was premeditated.
Lorne explained that he bought the gas because he was upset. He told the court that the complainant and her relatives ganged up on him and he only wanted to scare her.
“So why you took your money and buy gas?” Pusey asked.
Pusey then told Lorne that she believed the complainant’s allegations.
“Mi have sense,” Lorne remarked.
“Because you have sense? Mi nah waste nuh time with you. You know what you were doing,” Pusey said prior to remanding him for sentencing.
A fingerprint order was subsequently made.
