Patrick Livingston Gordon B.Sc. (Eng)
Mr. Gordon was born on September 3rd 1953 to parents Stanley Gordon and Elouise Gordon nee Robotham, in Kingston Jamaica and attended the Avondale Prep School, Jamaica College 1965-1972 and the New York Institute of Technology were he has a Diploma in Civil Engineering and a B.sc in Mechanical Engineering. After returning to Jamaica in September 1979 he started his career with a Group of family owned Construction Firms – General Road Construction Limited and General Paving Company Limited. In 1987 the Group expanded with the acquisition of another Paving and Construction Firm, which was, renamed Asphaltic Concrete Enterprise Limited. He plays an integral role in almost all aspects of the companies’ operations, from design to implementation. His companies have contributed tremendously to the improvement of road and drainage infrastructure across the length and breadth of Jamaica partnering with numerous state agencies.
A lover of cricket and a member of the Kingston Cricket Club, Mr. Gordon has had the opportunity of reconstructing the cricket pitch at Sabina Park where he was responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of Outfield and Clay Turf Pitch Square from 1998-2009 as Curator. He was given this opportunity following an incident with a test match between the West Indies and a visiting team where the condition of the pitch was called into question. He was also made Curator for the grounds of the Trelawney Multi-Purpose Stadium from 2005-2007, leading up to the opening of the Cricket World Cup in 2007. Mr. Gordon has also taught an Asphalt Technology & Mix Design Course to Final Year Construction Students at the University of Technology 2001-2005.
Mr. Gordon has previously occupied the position of Vice president of the Jamaica College Old Boys’ Association and Chairman of its Assets Committee. He has donated generously to the school’s development. In 2015 he constructed a much needed basketball court at the school which is named after him and in his honour.
He is currently a member of the Professional Engineers Registration Board. (P.E.R.B), an Executive member of the Incorporated Masterbuilders Association of Jamaica, Kingston Cricket Club, Saxthorpe Methodist Church and the Jamaica College Old Boys’ Association as well as other social clubs.
Mr Gordon has been married for the past thirty four years and has two sons.
