Police arrest more Spanish Town gang members
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police are reporting the arrest and charge of two men who they say are top-tier members of the One Order gang.
Arrested are 34-year-old Opheil Lobban, otherwise called ‘Tick Man’, of Elderslie Pen, Spanish Town, St Catherine and 34-year-old Temyo Cameron, otherwise called ‘Bulla’, a vendor of Tawes Meadows, also in Spanish Town.
Both men were charged for being part of a criminal organisation.
Since the start of the year, through collaboration between the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Branch (C-TOC) and their United States of America counterparts, three top-tier gang members have been arrested and charged, namely: Everton Minott, otherwise called ‘Rado’, Rohan Hope, otherwise called ‘Placka’, and Richard Shelley, otherwise called ‘Ryda’.
The police say they have been convicted and sentenced to 12, five and 20 years, respectively, for a range of offences.
C-TOC continues to coordinate the JCF’s anti-gang efforts with the St Catherine North Proactive Investigation Unit to reduce the influence of gangs in the old capital, the police say.
