Sandals Whitehouse fetes team members and families at back-to-school fun day

Sandals Whitehouse European Village and Spa gave close to 200 team members and their families lots to smile about over the weekend at the annual back-to-school family fun day.

The event, which took place at the resort’s football field, featured a wide range of activities for the kids, including a kiddie rock climbing wall, bouncy houses, trampolines and other exciting rides as well as face-painting, dancing contests, snow cone and cotton candy stations among others. Each team member also received back-to-school packages of school bags and supplies for their children.

Not to be left out, the adults were also pampered inside a free medi-spa where trained therapists and aestheticians from Executive Ground Ambulance Services administered complimentary massages and facials.

“I really enjoyed the family fun day, especially the medi-spa,” said Veneisha Pinnock, whose brother works as a landscaper at the resort. “This was actually my first time getting a massage.”

“My kids had a really good time,” said Alecia Brown from the laundry department. “It was actually the first time for me bringing them [kids] and I know I’ll definitely take them again next year.”

The back-to-school family fun day was organised by the resort’s human resources department. “As the summer holidays come to a close, it can be a stressful time for a lot of our team members who are contemplating back-to-school preparations for their kids,” said Human Resources Manager Angela Porter. “Therefore, they look forward to the annual family fun day as an opportunity to treat their kids and bond with each other while getting some help with back-to-school supplies.
