JCF netball competition honours fallen cop
The National Security Employees Co-operative Credit Union (NSECCU), Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) Area netball competition got off to an exciting start recently at the Police National Sports Complex, Elleston Road in Kingston.
Teams came out in all their vibrant colours and with high energy for the competition, which is being held in the memory of Woman Inspector Andrea Johnson who was a stalwart in JCF sports. Inspector Johnson died tragically in December 2014.
The NSECCU’s sponsorship is valued at $1.2 million, an investment which NSECCU Chief Executive Officer Osmond Broomfield explained is a worthy honour.
The competition has been dormant for the past five years, having no title sponsor since 2011. However, the JCF in the past had been very active in the sport, since the first netball team for the force was formed in 1961.
