Men engage cops in shoot-out, flee leaving gun behind
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The police yesterday seized a firearm after a group of men travelling in a motor car in Dusanine district, Manchester, allegedly engaged them in a shoot-out.
Reports from the Mandeville police are that about 9:30 am, the police team signalled the driver of the motor car to stop. However, the driver disobeyed and in an attempt to flee, crashed in a nearby field.
The men then reportedly opened gunfire at the police officers before escaping.
The scene was processed and the police say a Taurus .38 revolver was found in the area.
No one was arrested.
