Tortuga sells the most food items in one hour on HSN

Foodie News…

Miami FL/ Grand Cayman BWI/ Kingston, Jamaica – The Caribbean-flavoured Tortuga Rum Cakes were featured on HSN, the television shopping network, on Tuesday, December 6, on its Holiday Treats & Entertaining segment aired at 11:00 am ET with host Alyce Caron. The rum cakes sold the most items compared to other food items in that hour.

“We are thrilled to have our delicious Caribbean rum cakes promoted to the vast HSN audience,” said Monique Hamaty-Simmonds, director of brand development for Tortuga International and daughter of the founder of the Tortuga Rum Company.

“HSN offers an excellent opportunity to showcase our Tortuga brand. In fact, this is the third time on the shopping network ahead of the holiday gift-giving season and on Tuesday we featured our six-pack rum cake collection. And when Alyce declared on air that Tortuga was her very favourite brand of rum cake that was a huge endorsement for our product,” said Hamaty-Simmonds.

During the show, a number of HSN customers tweeted about the product:

“I love to bake. Since I found these lil jewels I will not bake this year. These are awesome,” said one.

Another Tortuga rum cake customer wrote: “I went on a cruise to where these were made. It was so much fun to be able to get them.”

A third HSN viewer said: “I ordered these and went to heaven, so ordered more for gifts.”
