The UWI Global Etiquette Society’s mandate is to create socially refined graduates who “promote discipline, uphold dignity and exemplify decorum.” We aim to build our members’ soft skills through our weekly sessions that focus on business etiquette, dining etiquette, résumé and cover letter writing, and proper interview skills for the world of work and by extension life.

The UWI Mona Careers Club, driven by the Office of Placement and Careers Services, plays a very significant role in the lives of students on campus. This club is laden with the task of creating, planning and executing activities centered around assisting students to be prepared for the competitive world of work. Operating under the mantra of bridging the gap between university students and the world of work, we seek to ensure our students are fully aware of what is required of them in order to be marketable. Presentations are done on Resume and Cover Letter Writing, motivational speakers providing career advice, discussions on dressing appropriately and career centered gaming activities are just a few of the activities coordinated by our club. In essence, we know the importance of career awareness and ensure our utmost efforts are geared towards preparing our students for the professional work environment.
