Lincoln 3Dot gives First Day account
Emerging deejay Lincoln 3Dot said he has returned to Jamaica to focus on his career.
“Mi feel like Jamaica is a smaller ground and easier fi cover than trying fi do it in America. Jamaican people have this thing where dem talk nuff; word a mouth spread faster in Jamaica, and the ground just small and easier fi conquer, so mi just figure seh mi wudda just try do it yah so instead,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
His latest single First Day, produced by Track Starr, was released last month.
“Mi basically a change mi style and flow cause me is somebody weh about lyrics and mi used to lack melody, so now mi a focus more pan melody but still weave in some lyrics inna it cause melody a sell now,” he said.
He said he has some other projects in the works.
Lincoln 3Dot, whose given name is Lincoln Richardson, grew up in August Town, Kingston. He migrated to New York a decade ago.
He said his musical style is influenced by dancehall, hip hop and rap music. His 2016 EP, titled
Powaful features the production work from Dre Day and Track Starr (Whey Yuh Feel Like).
