Work continues on broken Mandela main — NWC
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) is advising that its technical team is continuing with work on the broken main situated along the Mandela Highway, which connects St Catherine and St Andrew.
The company in a news release indicated that the work flow has been slow but is progressing steadily with a view to completion by later today.
Presently, the roadway remains clear in the vicinity of the work site, which should mean little or no delays for motorists on the inbound side of the highway, said NWC.
In addition, the water company said it has ensured that some customers served by the disrupted pipeline are now receiving water supply from alternate sources.
The NWC said it is working to complete the necessary works in the shortest possible time.
