Hamilton pens ode to Sisters
GOSPEL poet Latoya Hamilton is hoping that her latest release, Smiling Sisters, will be an inspiration to listeners while spreading a message of forgiveness.
“This musical poem is encouraging us to forgive those who have wronged us and keeping our heads high in spite of harsh circumstances and naysayers. It also encourages women to know who they are and not allow themselves to fall for empty promises often experienced from the opposite sex,” she said.Produced by London-based Ourhouse Musik, “My prayer is that this poem reaches an audience of broken and abused women and bring hope to them. Christ was crucified innocently and he forgave,” Hamilton emphasised.Hamilton was born in St Elizabeth, but spent most of her years in Kingston. She is best known for her 2014 album “I do dubs as well as the spoken word. I add a little spice to it by using contemporary music in the background,” she said.Hamilton is an ordained minister in Fresh Fire Ministries International Church in Jamaica.
