Complexions Gives Shades of Excellence
Anticipation was palpable on an overcast Wednesday evening as smartly attired patrons began arriving at the Little Theatre for the opening-night performance of the touring, world-famous Complexions dance troupe. Disappointment was nowhere in sight or on the reconditioned, reworked stage. The company’s three-act dance recital with seven pieces — including the opening 34-minute group opus Ballad Unto…, the stirring duet Ave Maria performed by Young Sil Kim and Kelly Marsh IV, and the David Bowie tribute Heroes – Star Dust (Excerpt) performed by Jillian Davis, Sergio Arranz and Doug Baum, all works from master choreographer and Complexions co-founder Dwight Rhoden — was a heady, artistic adrenaline rush. Friday Social takes you to the ballet and congratulates executive producer Marisa Benain, the US Embassy, Kingston and Benain’s fantastic team for an exceptional job!
