Verdict in ‘death squad’ trial expected today
The seven-member female-led jury is expected to hand down a verdict in the alleged “death squad” murder trial today in the Home Circuit Court.
Corporal Roan Morrison and Constable Collis Brown are being tried on murder and wounding with intent charges following an incident in February 2010 in which Phaebian Dinnal was fatally shot and another man injured on Windsor Avenue in May Pen, Clarendon.
Corporal Morrison is accused of killing Dinnal, while Constable Brown is accused of injuring the other man.
After five weeks of trial, the jury, which consists of six women, is expected to start deliberating today after Justice Jennifer Straw wraps up her summation today.
