$6m being spent on patching St Elizabeth roads
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Works Agency (NWA) says it has commenced a multi-million dollar road-patching programme in the parish of St Elizabeth.
According to the agency, some 3,000 square metres of road will be targeted at a cost of $6 million, under the programme.
The work got underway on last Friday and completion is expected within two weeks. NWA said the repairs are being undertaken by one of its “Force Account patching crews”.
The roads being targeted are Vauxhall to Arcadia, Aberdeen to Quickstep, Emmaus to Nain, Luana to Scotts Cove, Hodges to Speculation and Union to Oxford.
The NWA said the Road Maintenance Fund (RMF) is funding the programme.
The agency has advised motorists and pedestrians to obey all posted warning and directional signs and the instructions of flagmen while patching is in progress.
