Cops link 1800-lb ganja bust to guns-for-drugs trade
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Narcotics police on Monday seized 1800 pounds of ganja in the parish on Manchester.
Lawmen reportedly made the large seizure in Alligator Pond in the parish between midday and 4:00 pm.Report are that the officers were on operation in the Port Kaiser area when 38 knitted bags, containing 256 parcels of the illicit drug, were found in the mangroves. The police said they are theorising that the ganja was to be used in the guns-for-drugs trade within the region.The seizure has an estimated value of $10 million.No arrest was made in connection with the find. Investigations continue.
