ST ANDREW, Jamaica — The National Works Agency says it has mobilised teams to deal with multiple landslides in sections of St Andrew, as heavy rains continue to affect some communities.
According to communication and customer services manager, Stephen Shaw, the main road from St Cristopher to Glengoffe is now blocked, while the roads from Stony Hill to Toms River and Nolan Hill to Border are being impacted by multiple landslides, reducing them to single lane in sections. The communities of Essex Hall, Cavaliers and Burnt Shop are now inaccessible from either Fingerpost or Lawrence Tavern Square, as three massive landslides are affecting the corridor. The NWA is urging road users to exercise caution when travelling along those roadways that have been reduced to single lane.
