What should have been a game of dominoes between two brethren last month resulted in one man nursing wounds and another anticipating trial.Richardo Jackson was hauled before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court last Friday on a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.The court was told that on May 9, Jackson and the complainant were playing a game of dominoes when an argument developed. Allegations are that Jackson punched the complainant three times in his face.When the matter was called up on, Jackson denied the allegation but said he ‘tossed’ the complainant after he shoved the domino table at him.Parish Judge Chester Crooks, who was seemingly surprised by the allegations, asked the men if they were drunk.“He was drinking,” Jackson uttered.“Someone must have been drunk to be fighting over dominoes,” Crooks told the men. “You were friends before?” Crooks asked.Jackson told the court that they were friends prior to the incident.“What kind of injuries you got? How much money you spent?” Crooks asked.The complainant explained to the court that he spent over $40,000 for X-rays and $2,000 for registration.“How much you willing to pay?” the judge asked Jackson.Jackson replied: “I don’t know, but I am willing to pay.”The complainant, however, gave a different account that led to his injuries.He told the court that after the game ‘blocked’ an argument developed.“He said my uncle was a homosexual. Mi say how you know that and by the time me know me get a thump in my face,” the complainant told the court.A July 6 trial date was subsequently set for them to appear in the night court.
