Footloose was scorching
Dubbed the Short Shorts edition, the most recent staging of Footloose pulled another massive crowd inside the Mas Camp in St Andrew.
Patrons lined up from as early as 10:00 pm to enjoy a feast of retro music, which took them on a nostalgic journey back in time.
In keeping with the theme of the party, scores of females came dressed in shorts and danced non-stop.
“The vibe as Footloose was electrifying. We had a full house as was expected and patrons really enjoyed themselves,” promoter Tyrone Dixon of Broadway Productions told the Jamaica Observer.
Boasting selections from DJ Marvin and DJ Liquid, Footloose kept patrons on a musical high churning out hits from the 1980s into the mid-2000s.
“Best party for the year. I’m a Footloose fan for life,” said patron Debbie Lewis as her dancing partner ushered her to a more secluded area inside the venue.
Patrick Moore from Cooreville Gardens was experiencing the event for the first time.
“I have some friends from overseas visiting and they literally dragged me out of my house to come to the party. I’ve always heard of it but I never attended. I definitely will be at the next one,” said Moore.
Since 2006, Footloose has consistently delivered to retro music fans. The next serving will be on Saturday, August 26 inside the Mas Camp.
