15-y-o Jamaican killed in Florida crash
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 15-year-old Jamaican boy was killed and seven other people taken to the hospital following a car crash in Florida Sunday night.
According to the Sun Sentinel, the single-vehicle crash occurred on US Highway 192 near the Osceola-Brevard county line.
Reports are that a 40-year-old woman, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida was driving about 11:50 pm when a tire blew out on her Toyota SUV resulting in the loss of control of the vehicle, which overturned.
The boy, who has been identified as Travis Bernard, from Montego Bay, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Florida police say the driver and another passenger were the only ones wearing a seat belt.
