Man sentenced to life for murder of girlfriend
HANOVER, Jamaica — A Hanover man was, on July 4, sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his girlfriend at Epping in the parish.
Sentenced is Kevon Shaw for the killing of Darnell Campbell.
The office of the DPP reported that on June 21, 2011, at approximately 11:00 am, a witness saw Shaw arguing with Campbell outside her house.
The witness claimed that they overheard Campbell telling Shaw that the relationship was over; however Shaw told her that it was not.
Shortly after the exchange, Campbell was allegedly seen running towards the back of her house with Shaw chasing her.
When Campbell disappeared into the house, the witness heard her screaming “Murder! Murder!”
The witness claimed that they did not see or hear from Campbell after that.
Campbell’s body was later discovered by the witness with her throat cut.
