In a bid to grow the local agricultural sector while also making an impressive dent in the importation market, the CB Foods Group officially introduced its Imagination Farms, last Tuesday evening at a launch reception hosted at the Hope Zoo.

The CB Foods-owned, 400-acre Imagination Farms in St Catherine — which currently grows produce that includes onions, sorrel, Scotch bonnet peppers and cucumbers — is aimed at fostering sustainable agriculture, job creation, foreign exchange earning and cutting into the billion-dollar importation bill the island pays for overseas-grown produce.

Following an inspirational video presentation highlighting the overarching vision of Imagination Farms, CB Goup Chief Operating Officer Matthew Lyn took to the podium and eloquently relayed to the audience the company’s journey from its infancy to maturation as a considerable homegrown produce-generating space.

Guest speaker and Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries Karl Samuda congratulated the CB Group on its new initiative, stressing that data-driven research and logistics were the way forward in advancing the agricultural industry.
