ATL pioneers Jamaica’s first Appliance Registry
Retail giant Appliance Traders Limited (ATL) has launched the first local-based appliance gift registry, positioning itself to not only tap into the traditional wedding niche market, but also expand to help clients commemorate other life milestones, namely house-warmings and anniversaries.
The registry, powered by www.atljamaica.com, allows immediate activation by users once they create a free virtual company account. On the ATL Gift Registry page, shoppers may then choose from over 40,000 products across ATL’s residential and commercial brands, or request outsourcing of special items. Additionally, multiple registries may be synced under one account and wish lists shared with family, friends, and well-wishers via email, Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest.
“This is an appropriate, modern platform to complement significant gift giving occasions,” assured Appliance Traders Marketing Manager Tonya Russell. “Using this registry to select items from our divisions (Home, Business Solutions, Energy, Parts Plus and Industrial), means access to the widest variety of quality merchandise at affordable prices, a faster shopping experience for gift-givers, and never having to resign yourself to accepting gifts you don’t deem entirely useful,” she said.
The company’s newest venture will also make the acquisition of higher-priced appliances achievable, through the introduction of group gifting, which will give guests of account holders an option to pool their resources towards one or more purchases. Guests may also opt to buy a registry item or additional gifts in-store at ATL’s Kingston, Montego Bay, or Ocho Rios locations, adding those items to the hosts’ free registry delivery package.
Russell added, “Our shoppers will enjoy the flexibility of being able to alter their selections and having their loved ones fund their purchases from anywhere in the world. To add to the experience, ATL will also give away a free gift card valued $15,000 for registries with contributions over $300,000, as well as free announcement cards for physical invitation packages for guests, to facilitate online or in-store purchases.”
“We understand the direction shoppers are moving in and we want to harness that part of the market. It’s a natural fit and we anticipate good uptake,” Russell concluded.
The Gift Registry comes on the heels of last year’s introduction of Appliance Traders’ redesigned, fully integrated e-commerce store and Gift Card programme.
