Record number of livestock entries for Denbigh 2017 — JAS
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Agricultural Society (JAS) says that a record nuumber of entries have been made to the livestock section of the 65th Denbigh Agricultural, Industrial and Food Show.
According to a release from JAS, over 1,000 exhibits are expected in this area, making it the largest number ever in the show’s history.
The society said that based on the levels of interest shown in the livestock area, it will look to accomodate additional animals next year.
Judging for the livestock competition will commence on Saturday, August 5 at 9:00 am.
JAS said, Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries Karl Samuda and JAS President, Norman Grant, will visit the competition on August 5, while the Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen will visit on August 6.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness, Samuda, and Grant, on Monday, August 7, are to inspect the animals during the parade at 11:00 am.
