KINGSTON, Jamaica — A New York businessman has claimed that men on motorbikes, posing as security guards, robbed him of “around $90,000” at his residence on Wednesday.

Jamaican-born Vanril Brown told OBSERVER ONLINE today that three men, two of whom were dressed as Hawkeye security guards, robbed him at knifepoint.

Brown, who travelled to Jamaica with his wife on Saturday for vacation, said he went to the JN Bank in Half-Way-Tree were he withdrew the funds and proceeded to the Brooklyn Supermarket to make purchases.

He then drove to his residence on Lorraine Avenue off Molynes Road where he was approached by the imposters after his Hawkeye alarm went off.

“One of the men on the bike asked me which road they were on and told me they were patrolling the area, I asked him to remove his helmet so I could hear what he was saying, and he didn’t.”

“The alarm was still going off and my wife called me to put in the code, that’s when they jumped the fence and grabbed me and held a knife to my neck and took the money.” Brown said.

Brown produced a receipt proving he made a report to the police.

However, when the OBSERVER ONLINE contacted the Half-Way-Tree police, a supervisor who gave her name as only Ms Edwards said that she was unaware of such a report.
